Mark and me are very happy together. Although he and our son may have chosen a different path, their unwavering support fuels my solo pursuit of this lifelong dream. For three remarkable years, I am navigating the vast oceans with nothing but sheer determination and a heart full of passion.
Not confined by age or the constraints of conventional life, in my 50s, bravely departed from the rat race, trading it for the serenity of the open sea. Through my unscripted videos, I offer a glimpse into the authentic tapestry of my sailing.

From the age of 10 to the age of 25 I lived in Lemmer, Friesland, The Netherlands. My parents have a mooring at the house and I spend a lot of time on the water with friends. I am also buying my first boat, which I often sail alone. My favorite book at that time was a youth sailing book!
With school I go to sailing camp at De Kikkert several times. Awesome!
I those days we own a Grinde also. It is called Eclips. We set sail to Enkhuizen every weekend. I also participate in competitions with my friend at the local water sports club De Zevenwolden. My first job is at Zeilmakerij de Vries in Lemmer which is the local sailmaker.
In 2007 I sailed the Gant Cup in Bodrum with a ship with 9 ladies!
In 2011 I organized a sailing week and coached a group of people on personal development in Barcelona on a Hanze 470.
In 2021 I sailed for Amorgos for four weeks as a flotilla leader and skipper in Lefkas – Greece.
I am skipper of a new women’s team during the Ibiza Regatta in 2021.
